Ornamental plants are emerging as a natural and eco-friendly solution for treating coffee wastewater, which is often rich in organic matter, caffeine, and other pollutants. During coffee processing, large volumes of wastewater are produced, and if released untreated, they can harm soil, water bodies, and aquatic life. Using ornamental plants for wastewater treatment not only helps reduce pollution but also adds aesthetic value to treatment areas, making this approach both practical and visually appealing. These plants clean coffee wastewater through a process known as phytoremediation. Their roots absorb nutrients, organic compounds, and certain toxic substances from the wastewater. At the same time, beneficial microorganisms living around the roots help break down complex pollutants into simpler, less harmful forms.
